# 1 - Wedding Photography

The first type of photography job involves weddings and events. Many people go throughout their lives and only pay for professional photography once, but almost everyone hires a photographer for their wedding. Being a wedding photographer includes an exciting mix of portraiture and event photography in a wide variety of settings and groups. Wedding photography is very intense, in which you can get the best shot in the first attempt and in some situations may not really get a second chance. Wedding photographers have to get on their feet quickly, move around during receptions and ceremonies, and have enough sales and customer service components for their jobs. They also have to be adaptable, ready to shoot outdoors on a sunny day and indoors for dim lighting and dancing. Couples will expect direction from the photographer for the shots and setting, so the photographer must be confident and communicate well with the bride and groom.

# 2 - Event Photography

In the same vein, event photography is a dynamic and fast-paced way of making a buck with your camera. Whether your beat is at corporate events or wild and crazy rock concerts, event photographers work in a variety of settings. Event photography styles often feature a mixture of photojournalistic documentary work and portraits. Some organizations use their event photos for promotional events, while others use party photos as souvenirs or keepers.

# 3 - Portrait Photography

Portraiture is one of the most common types of photographers we think of when we consider career options. The kind of photography that can be included in portraits is astonishing. Retail customers look for portrait photographers for every stage of life: maternity and newborns, school photos, senior photos, and general family photos. Corporate portraits are also usually required as employees update their headshots for websites and promotional materials. In addition, there is a constant need for an updated portfolio with a list of current shots for aspiring and professional model agencies and jobs to market themselves.

# 4 - Product Photography

More specialized than working in advertising, product photography is a great expertise. Think of all the products for which you have recently shopped: everything needs to be photographed. The photographs are used for online and print catalogs, as well as labels and packaging. Most of the product is photography studio based, with careful control of the background, shadows and lighting. Studio rentals can be quite expensive, so consider building a home photography studio on a budget.

# 5 - Fine Art Photography

In all types of photography, this is not a rule. Fine art photographers make art. They display their work in galleries and art shows, and typically, they sell finished, framed print products to their customers. Fine art photography can occur in any subject, but landscape and portrait artists are probably the most common. Fine art images are about capturing emotional responses and communicating with the audience.
